This is an experiment...Auds...I wrote the email in Yahoo, copied it to Word, then copied it to you.
Did it work? Including the pix?
See yesterday's letter for the news but here are some additional pictures....

we love you and will miss you on our very favorite holliday, Thanksgiving. What are you guys doing? You must be the super hostess again! Somebody had to do it!

and how was the RS VT night?
Date: Sunday, November 23, 2008, 12:21 AM> Repentance and forgiveness were the topics in Sacrament> meeting and both were handled well with plenty of powerful> stories. It was a personal message as well as one with> universal application. I am grateful for my Savior who has> provided a way for me to continually repent so I can return> to live with Him again. > > I admit that after trying to grow "shade" plants> for the better part of my life that I finally "get> it" after living in NZ. Duh! It is not just the> shade...these plants will grow in the full SUN if it is not> too hot! The full-time-Gore-gardners have just torn out the> spring blooming plants and replaced them with the summer> blooms and so far we see begonias! The roses are going> crazy with just a gradual temperature increase, not a hot> July summer like SLC! Remember the daffie's growing in> .5 mile stretches? We now see lupine growing on the> roadside in long rows and in groups. Fox glove goes crazy> here and every blue flower you wanted to plant is in NZ,> blooming its head off. It is not the shade they crave...it> is the cooler temps. I will not throw more money nor time> after shade plants. > > Jack and I had decided to do a wee Thanksgiving treat for> the Elders at our District Meeting since we will not be> celebrating Thanksgiving. Pumpkin pie sounded> good...Thought I'd simplify and purchase my first pie> crust and go from there. The store had every kind of crust:> puff, savory, sweet, shortbread, you name it but no good ole> American pie crust. Okay, I'll make it. No pumpkin in> cans...okay, I'll bake it...Then we switched to apple> pies instead to speed things up. As I sat at the table to> peel, the apples by hand without my apple peeler, Jack asked> if I really wanted to go to that much work? Maybe a cake or> some cookies instead. It took 2 minutes change my mind and> was off baking mom's fabulous Chewy Oatmeal cookies> which they loved and took 1/10 the time. Good call Jack! > > We did sing Thanksgiving songs for Sacrament Meeting and> Jack and I were the only ones singing. (I had to sing as I> was playing cause I played so poorly that they needed to> know where I was!) Disclaimer: I NEVER practice> Thanksgiving hymns and the songs for today were already> selected when President Sloan made the request. By far my> worst accompanying was today. Leaves lots of room for> improvement.> > Believe it or not...(are you ready?) We miss the winter. > Cold as it was the scenery had much more interest to it as> trees showed their structure and provideed some texture to> what has become an all green countryside. We miss the> spectacular views now that the trees are in full leaf. > Spoken like a true artist.> > Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Our favorite time of year> and we are missing seeing you! We will be thinking of you> and hope you know you are tops on our list of things for> which we are grateful! We love you!> > Love, Dixie

road home from Dolamore Park picnic

I tried to get some fabulous videos for you but truely, the dialog that accompanies both of them is nicer than either video. We decided on the way home form our picnic at Dolarmore park that I would try to capture some scenery. It wasn't such great video-ing but you might get a kick out of it.

Love you so very MUCH!

I hope this helps me show you some of the videos I have shot while here in NZ. I already feel like I blog with the "more from Gore" letter I publish weekly so don't know if this will be used frequently...

I just checked Auds and Jax's blogs and they thrilled me. What neat daughters I have who love to create fun for themselves and memories for their kids. Lucky kids! I love you!
